Kim’s soft tops and sports cars

“I WILL only drive sports cars or SUVs, ever.” When you normally hear someone utter those words, you tend to roll your eyes and go, “yeah, right.” However, when those words come from Kimberly Yang, you’re inclined to believe her. Especially when you consider her history with cars.  “I can’t help it, it’s in my genes,” she said. “If I drive a sedan, I’d probably fall asleep behind the wheel! Click here to read more.

Steady footing With the R350

HERE'S an interesting tidbit from Datuk Michael Tio, the managing director and group chief executive officer of PKT Logistics Group. According to this 41-year-old father of two who started life as a used car dealer at the age of 18, a car is very often an extension of one’s personality. Say, if you drive a Mercedes, high chances are that you may be a stable, consistent and conservative character with a corporate outlook. If you prefer a BMW, then you’re most probably one of those ambitious but fun-loving types. Click here to read more.

Muscle bike for muscle hunk

Ask Mr Asia 1999 Terry Gallyot who the real love in his life is and he’ll tell you it’s none other than his 1992/1993 Harley Softail Springer.Of course, there is a Penang girl in the background.Just for a bit of epiphany, the Harley is Gallyot’s second "wife" and it was very much a case of love at first sight when this muscle hunk set eyes on the V-twin 1,340cc stunner at a friend’s workshop in 1998 and decided that it was time for him to part ways with his Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Classic which he had been using for six years. Hostess with the mostest

BEAUTY queens are a breed apart. You need a load of self confidence, unparalleled beauty and wits to match. A generous amount of intelligence is an added bonus. Megan Tan, 21, is a great example of a beauty queen who got it right. Bubbly, bright and blessed with winning good looks, she recently added another feather to her profile by winning the recent 8 TV Quickie Search, and securing a spot as a presenter on the show.  Click here to read more.

Queen of etiquette

MANY will remember Aziah Jasmin Azizul as a former TV3 newscaster but to the legion of professional consultants, she is known as Ms Manners. Making the shift from TV screen to the business of telling people how to dress, behave and act couldn’t have come more naturally for this Ipoh-born beauty who drives a black Perdana V6. “I feel that the crux that makes manners so important in any culture is the need to take the feelings of others into consideration,” said Aziah, 38. Adrenalin rush, intense rides

ASK Datuk Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor about all the thrilling rides he has taken in his life and you can expect him to mention hurtling into the sky at 22,000km/h in the Soyuz TMA-11, the space craft that propelled him to the stars. “Later, they told me that my father, despite his strong character, screamed when he saw the launch. He thought that all the fire from the rocket thrusters was going to burn us all,” he said. Muszaphar revealed that he nearly didn’t make it for the space programme. Click here to read more.

Burn’s dark beauty

“MY room doesn’t look like my car, and my car doesn’t look at all like my room.” One might question that statement, but will get a better understanding once one sees the relationship Rueben Thevandran a/l Ramanath - or Burn as he is more popularly known - has with his car. Burn first shot to fame when he took part in the first season of Akademi Fantasia. After “graduating”, he joined Astro’s  XFresh.fm in 2004, and spent the next years there honing his skills as a radio announcer before moving to EraFM in November 2008.  Click here to read more.

Hafiz rocks his Triton

"The biggest misconception people have about radio announcers is that theyíre not good looking enough on TV!" says Hafiz Hatim with a laugh. ìIn fact, weíre also realists in the entertainment world ñ on radio you have to handle four hours of talking, it makes you more approachable. And I think people are more comfortable with you when they hear your voice first, before seeing a face.î Well, heís set to prove them wrong as the host of the upcoming one-of-a-kind reality dance show, Showdown 2010 to be aired live on 8TV beginning this coming March. Non’s quirky rides

IF the name doesn’t ring a bell, then surely the voice will. With an unforgettable deep baritone, Aanont Wathanasin, or more famously and simply known as Non, is one of the veterans on our local radio scene. Non started out as an announcer on Mix.FM about 10 years ago, before moving to Lite FM, where fans can catch him right now. Non is also the host of NTV7’s Deal or No Deal. What most people don’t know about Non is that he has a rather unusual taste in cars. Meaning, the more uncommon a car is, the more he appreciates it. Click here to read more.
