Mammoth Lexus Beast

You must have seen this vehicle around and wondering what beast it is.

Also known as the Land Cruiser, the Lexus LX 570 SUV (sports utility vehicle) is the posher version of the same thing.

Brought into the local market by Naza Motor Trading Sdn Bhd, there are only 10 units available.

The LX is imported from Australia (it is not sold as a Lexus in Japan) and runs on a 5.7-litre V8 engine which produces 362hp of power as well as 530Nm of torque, making it the most powerful Lexus SUV.

The gearbox is a 6-speed sequential-shift automatic unit that is built for durability and heavy duty jobs. It can still zoom to 100km/h from zero in less than eight seconds.

Helping you to navigate this vehicle will be scores of cameras at the front and rear bumpers, and a GPS machine just in case you get lost in the desert.

We drove the LX for a while and it seemed that ride factor was more towards comfort.

With the amount of space the cabin provides, we believe it will be a perfect SUV to be chauffeured in.

When you want to take over from your driver, hit the Sport Mode button and the suspension becomes tauter to allow slightly faster cornering.

Do remember that this is a big vehicle and parking it at the mall will require help from someone outside, even with the cameras.

Perfect for logging tycoons or construction magnates, the LX 570 is the new power in the Japanese SUV category.

Naza offers two different pricing for the LX - RM758,000 for a re-conditioned unit and  RM828,000 for those who cannot live without the smell of a brand new vehicle.
