For Proton's car review, read the business section! - UPDATED!!!

My wife wanted me to decorate the house, and while I might know a thing or two about cars, I quickly went to the bookstore and grab some Domestic mags like Anjung Seri and a few others because I have no idea how to decorate a house.

Then I got interested in r/c toys (seriously, they are not toys), so I bought some r/c magazines because they have tonnes of the right info that I want.

But from what I can see, if you want to know how a Proton feels on the road, you will soon have to read the business pages in the newspapers or buy some business mags because the company has now put in more focus on business writers rather than the motoring ones.

Some people might accuse me of being a cry baby but don't you think it is funny to leave out the motoring journos when you are about to do your first concept car unveiling in Geneva?

That's like inviting CBT to do first hand coverage on the World Economic Conference. How weird!

Geneva is not the first time the motoring writers were not invited. So that is why I think this is a new trend by Proton.

*UPDATE!

Well, a few friends from Proton called me up, as expected. Though many of them are my dear friends, I have to say that the above issue is quite annoying. No, as a media practitioner, I can always get the story from other sources but Proton is our national car company, and the motoring boys have done a lot to help the company. I mean of the rakyat wants to complain about the car, do you seriously think the complaint letters will end up on the desk of a business editor? Well, this is a learning curve to a few and I hope both parties can work better after this. So no more sad stories lah, its Chinese New Year and let's enjoy it with all the other Malaysians!

I guess that to receive the credit loans from creditors you must present a great motivation. Nevertheless, one time I have received a car loan, because I wanted to buy a house.

Haha, Beli kereta proton satu minggu dashbord dah mula berbunyi
Maybe cuz proton don't want some motor journalist embarrass them internationally? Like... asking them whether their power window still sucks? Or go politic by bringing in issue about NAP, UMNO, tax, AP king, Mahathir, blablabla.
Dear Tok Moh, I think veteran motoring journalists like my boss, Yamin Vong and Uncle Chips are way more experienced than to ask silly questions like that! :)
Aku suppose ko takkan publish nih... but is this the work of someone who used to head the 'media' side of Perodua? Hahaha, entah le. Worse still, it's not like motoring writers have not been supportive of Proton eh... warts and all? Atau mungkinkah Proton pun tau it's all too easy to impress automotive-blind business writers and have them clinging to their words. I remember the business folks heaping high hopes for Boston Electric.. but the motoring hacks caught the stench a mile away.
but cimatt, those electric dudes were not an initiative of proton.
Haha, Lough out loud! I guess it is cost saving measures. Did you know that in the Facility Management services, majority of the technicians are either from mechanical or electrical vs civil engineering backgrounds. That's simply because mech/elect technicians can repair the door knob, replace the leaked cistern tank and of course repairs lift, air cond and stuff - which the civil tech can't. I think Proton practices the same way, business journos can write about econs and at the same time pass the materials to their motoring friends. Btw, too bad CBT wasn't invited because I'm looking forward to read your say about the car.
waaa, like that now ah? so the motoring boys do what if not motoring?
waaa, like that now ah?
