Runaway Prius may be caused by driver error

Toyota can breathe easier now.

According to USA Today, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported that its investigation points out to driver error rather than a faulty brake system.

NHTSA retrieved information from the Prius' onboard computer system and found out that the brakes were not applied and the throttle was fully open.

Toyota however refused to comment as the accident is now being investigated by the New York Police Department.

The incident in New York was the second after the one in San Diego (driven by Jim Sikes).
