Premium and spacious Volvo wagon

VOLVO hopes to improve the demand for wagons here with its new V50 2.0 Powershift.

“The V50 wagon is a timely offering as Malaysians lead very active lifestyles today. It is a premium and spacious wagon that provides plenty of performance, practicality and versatility,” said Volvo Car Malaysia Sdn Bhd president Goran Larsson during the launch of the V50 wagon at the Swedish Marque showroom in Kuala Lumpur recently.

The 2-litre Volvo V50 wagon comes with premium safety and occupant comfort features as well as a dual clutch six-speed Powershift transmission, which is similar to the Volkswagen DSG (direct shift gearbox).

“The Powershift transmission helps to reduce fuel consumption by as much as 11 per cent compared with the Volvo V50 2.4i. You can go further and do more with this wagon,” said Larsson.

Meanwhile, the V50 wagon also offers a flexible interior with a fold-flat backrest for every passenger seat.

With the seats folded down, the load compartment floor is entirely flat.

"The V50 wagon also follows in our grand tradition of safety first. We have a holistic view of safety that encompasses both preventive and protective safety. Our vision is that by 2020, no one should be killed or injured in a Volvo," said Larsson.
